Organization Leading Local Medicaid Care Delivery Transformation Efforts Expands Leadership Team

Alliance for Better Health Care, LLC Hires Seasoned Health Care Professional Margaret Wallingford

Alliance for Better Health Care, LLC, a collaborative organization facilitating the transformation of the Medicaid health care delivery system in six counties of upstate New York, has expanded its leadership team. Margaret “Meg” Wallingford, joins the Alliance as senior vice president of transformation, further deepening the organization’s expertise in healthcare system change.

In her role as senior vice president of transformation at Alliance, Wallingford will oversee the implementation of eleven Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) projects designed to collectively transform the delivery of health care throughout the Capital Region and Mohawk Valley. She will be instrumental in engaging both healthcare providers and community-based organizations toward the goal of improving the quality of care delivered to patients, reducing healthcare costs, and improving the health and wellness of communities.

Wallingford brings more than 30 years of experience in the private and public healthcare delivery systems, building collaborative networks among hospital-based and at-home service providers, accountable care organizations and managed care organizations to promote quality and access to effective, affordable and equitable healthcare for society’s most vulnerable populations.

Bethany Gilboard, CEO of Alliance, who has worked with Wallingford previously, knew her skills and experience set her apart as a uniquely qualified candidate.

“I had the privilege of working with Meg years ago when she worked for two managed care companies in Massachusetts. When I learned she was living and working in Albany, I knew that I wanted to have her on our team and am thrilled to have the opportunity to work together again on this exciting initiative.”

“When developing the position of senior vice president of transformation, we recognized the need for someone with extensive experience in system change. Meg has the experience we need and will be a tremendous asset to Alliance and to all of our partner organizations and community members.”
